Retail Sales Associate,
Lafayette Hill

The Sweet Trading Company , a locally owned, handcrafted chocolate, candy and confections shop, is seeking a PT Retail Sales Associate for our Lafayette Hill location.
We are looking for a dedicated and creative individual to join our team. The perfect candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to jump in, move fast and work hard. This position has room for growth for the right candidate with Social Media and Sales Experience.

Retail Sales Associate will learn and share about our handcrafted Belgian chocolates with customers, assisting them in selecting the perfect self-earned treat or gift for another. Using your creativity and eye for detail, will assist in keeping the case and displays fully stocked and presentable, package our chocolates for retail sales and custom orders, assist in maintaining visual and merchandising standards, organize stock and packaging, and assist customers with all aspects of sales.   

Candidate Experience

  • 3+ years of experience retail sales (Food-industry retail experience preferred).

  • Extraordinary communications skills, written and verbal.

  • Commitment to providing expert customer service, quality operations and an unparalleled level of professionalism.

  • Strong organizational management and conflict resolution skills.

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule and available to work pre-scheduled Special Occasion Weekends and Holidays when necessary.

  • Outgoing and positive attitude and an enjoyment of engaging with customers.

  • Past experience with inventory management, cash management, and other operational tasks.

  • Experience and understanding of various point of sales systems (Experience with Square POS system preferred, but not required).

  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work standing for extended periods of time


  • Ensure each patron receives outstanding customer service by providing a friendly environment, deep product knowledge, and honest advice. Build lasting relationships with our customers. Go above and beyond to provide the highest level of service

  • Present a well-stocked, clean, and beautifully presented sales floor. Present our product in appealing, selling ways. Create attractive gift baskets and packages for sale and custom order.

  • Create and direct special in-store events, promotions, and manage community engagements

  • Be detail-oriented, noticing and taking action on items that are not operating under optimal conditions. Present ideas and options for maintaining a high level of excellence in the store.

  • Ensure strong and regular communication with main office, including operations updates, marketing needs, visual merchandising requests, customer service issues, and promotions. Everyone works together to share learnings, celebrate successes, troubleshoot problems, and drive the company to become that much better each day.
